How Do I Know If I’m Eligible?
PureSky has 9 Community Solar farm projects in our Illinois pipeline across both Ameren and ComEd territories, offering 10-50% savings on the value of your community solar credits.*
You are eligible for our Illinois Community Solar program if:
- You live in Illinois;
- Your utility is Ameren or ComEd;
- And you pay your own utility bill.

*Income eligible homeowners and renters may save 50% of the value of their solar credits through the Illinois Solar for All program. Our McLean Solar I farm exclusively serves income-eligible households within the Ameren utility region.

Commonly Asked Questions
When I receive my savings?
It can take two or more months to see your savings after a solar farm becomes operational or you’ve been added to a solar farm. Please note, that the Cape Cod Solar Farm is not slated to go active until 2028.
Immediately after you sign up, we will either assign you to a solar farm or place you on a waitlist. If you can be placed right away, then, we will let the utility know that you have joined a community solar farm. It then takes time for the utility to add your account to a community solar farm and for your share to generate credits.
How does it lower my energy costs?
In short, you will receive savings equal to 10% or more on your solar credits – depending on the community solar program. Most of our community solar programs in Massachusetts offer 10% savings. Cape Cod is proposed to offer 20% savings when it becomes active in 2028.
Here’s where it gets a little complicated. When you sign up, we assign you a share of the community solar program. Your share earns you solar credits as the solar panels generate electricity.
For example, let’s say, your portion of the farm generates $100 worth of electricity. You will receive savings equal to 10% of the value of your solar credits. If your solar credits are worth $100, then you will pay PureSky Energy $90, reducing your overall cost significantly, all while supporting renewable energy.
How much does it cost to sign up?
No cost to sign up, this is purely a savings program!
You will still have to pay your utility bill each month, but you will see significant savings. Your savings from your solar credits + your fees = electricity savings!
How is my subscription size determined and what if my usage changes?
Our Community Solar Specialists analyze your annual electricity usage and use this to determine the appropriate subscription rate. We understand your electricity needs may change and can adjust your subscription to maximize your savings at any time.
How does billing work?
You will continue to receive a bill from your current utility provider. Your community solar credits generated by the solar farm will be applied directly on your utility bill. You will receive savings equal to 10% or more, depending on the program, of the value of your solar credits, and pay PureSky for the remaining percentage.
Please note, this will not increase the cost of your electricity, instead, you will receive significant savings with community solar.
What if I move or need to cancel?
Oftentimes, your solar subscription can move with you, we want you to continue to save money in your new home!
If for any reason we can’t move your subscription to your new home, you can still take advantage of our referral program and recommend a new customer to take your place.
