Overview:
The Project Accounting Manager will help to ensure the financial success and efficiency of our solar energy projects, contributing to our mission of promoting renewable energy solutions. This role requires a strong background in accounting, project management, and a deep understanding of the solar industry's financial dynamics.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Accounting:
- Manage the accounting for multiple solar projects, ensuring all costs are accurately captured and reported in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Oversee the account reconciliations for each balance sheet account related to the applicable projects are completed on a timely basis and that all outstanding variances are investigated and correctly recorded.
Financial Management:
- Oversee all accounting functions related to solar projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Cost Control and Monitoring:
- Conduct detailed cost analysis and variance reporting to support project managers in understanding project financials.
Risk Assessment:
- Identify and assess financial and budgetary risks associated with solar energy projects and propose mitigation strategies.
Audit Support:
- Prepare documentation and support internal and external audits related to solar projects.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Collaborate with operations leaders, project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and finance departments to align actual reporting and budgeting and financial strategies with project goals.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in project accounting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on project accounting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and IFRS and US GAAP reporting standards.
- Solid understanding of fixed asset and construction-in-process accounting, budgeting techniques, and project finance principles.
- Experience in the renewable energy sector, particularly solar, is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational and managerial skills, ability to adapt to multiple demands, set priorities and achieve results on a timely basis.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to accurately assess financial data and project costs.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, specifically NetSuite; familiarity with project management tools is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Salary:
Annual Salary $95,000 - $105,000 USD
Bonus Opportunity: 20% of annual salary
