Overview:

PureSky Energy is seeking a Director, Procurement who is eager to contribute their expertise in sourcing and securing products and services required in renewable energy projects. They develop and manage PureSky Energy’s procurement strategy, evaluate suppliers (vendor evaluation) and lead the negotiation of supplier contracts and agreements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops the equipment and services procurement strategy and manages corresponding plans to achieve targeted cost reductions and increase the company’s control in managing supply chain issues.  
  • Leads the identification, assessment and evaluation of potential vendors / suppliers to identify an approved list of vendors/suppliers.
  • Leads RFI, RFP and RFQ exercises to obtain quotations/proposals from suitable suppliers of equipment and services.   Evaluates how the offerings align with PureSky Energy’s requirements for project delivery and optimization of financial returns.
  • Investigates and maintains a view of the bankability and performance of major equipment and adjusts PureSky Energy’s procurement strategy accordingly.
  • Develops and maintains a forward-looking view of tariffs and legislative incentives (e.g. domestic content adders) that influence the selection and procurement of the equipment / services and recommends corresponding changes to the procurement strategy and plans.
  • Prepares supply contracts and leads the negotiation of terms with suppliers, involving the senior management and executive teams at PureSky Energy as appropriate.
  • Maintains a view of the Bill of Materials for major equipment and regularly assesses risks with supply chain constraints impacting manufacturers, commodity prices, import tariffs and logistics.  
  • Maintains a list of equipment purchased that satisfies US Safe Harbor requirements for corresponding projects.
  • Periodically assesses forecasted supply and demand for equipment and services and may recommend adjustment of the procurement strategy to top management.
  • Manages direct staff that support the execution of procurement plans, including the ordering equipment and services from approved suppliers (including issuing of Purchase Orders) and coordination of warehousing and site deliveries.
  • Approves factory/site inspection reports and provides clearance certificates.
  • Reviews and approves supplier invoices and supporting documentation (e.g. inspection reports, clearance certificates); forwards receiving paperwork to Accounting for vendor payment.
  • Maintains records of approved suppliers and periodically evaluates vendor performance (e.g., conformance with stated requirements, trends, anomalies).
  • Represents PureSky Energy on SEIA’s Trade Working Group.
  • Supports senior management and various PureSky Energy entities and teams on a variety of other duties as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree (in business administration or other suitable field) is required.
  • 5+ years of work experience as a purchaser / buyer, preferably with a construction firm or renewable energy company.
  • 2+ years of work experience negotiating supply agreements.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others (in particular, establishing and maintaining good vendor relationships) are essential.
  • Strong Organization, attention to detail and negotiation skills are a must.
  • Preference will be given to those with a track record of leadership.
  • Procurement certifications (CSCP, CPPM, etc.) are a plus.

Salary:

Annual Salary $130,000 - $150,000 USD (Location Specific)
Bonus Opportunity: 35% of annual salary
