Overview:

This Development Manager will work with a team of high-performance subject matter experts to collaboratively advance projects. Some travel is required, for meetings, public hearings, site visits, etc. You will be responsible for project scope, schedule, budget, & finance model, as well as cross-discipline coordination with Land, Permitting, Real Estate, Interconnection, Engineering, Finance, etc. in the development, & execution of projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop & deliver profitable solar projects located throughout the Great Lakes region (NY,PA, OH, MI, WI) region of the United States, with near term focus in PA.
  • Understand site selection criteria, environmental & permitting, & interconnection processes
  • Set project strategy; chart course with the team for effective & efficient project execution
  • Build long-term, positive, trusting relationships with all stakeholders
  • Support SMEs in handling any challenging interconnection, permitting or construction related issues
  • Thoroughly understand project economics; Drive the financial modelling to optimize performance and returns
  • Understand state solar and storage incentive programs, with focus on Pennsylvania and New York
  • Negotiate & implement service agreements & real estate contracts
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and other PM tools to to ensure timely execution of projects
  • Work with the Construction team in order to transition projects from development to construction
  • Manage consultants and contractors associated with developing each project
  • Provide quantitative analytical support for key project development decisions
  • Travel to & represent the company at key community meetings & public hearings, often in the evening & occasionally overnight, as may be necessary
  • Other duties for which you are qualified

 

Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in business, finance, engineering, energy, law, or other related discipline
  • At least 2+ years with direct experience managing solar and/or storage projects
  • A high level of social, emotional, spatial, & linguistic intelligence
  • Legal eligibility to live in the US & travel throughout the US & Canada
  • Valid US Driver's license
  • Ability to perform site walks on treed, rocky, & sloped terrain in a variety of weather conditions
  • Proven experience & leadership in project management, budgeting, & finance
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in various stages from land control to NTP
  • Strong negotiating & deal-making skills
  • Soft skills: integrity, initiative, energy, attitude, execution, passion, teamwork, hyper-organized and entrepreneurial

Salary:

Annual Salary $115,000 - $140,000 USD
Bonus Opportunity: 20% of annual salary
